THE IMPORTANCE OF AN ARCHITECT'S DIGITAL FOOTPRINT.

What is a digital footprint? It essentially everything about us on the Internet. Every photo, tweet, comment, and blog entry we have ever uploaded.

This is an image I shot for the architect.

This is an image I found on the web of the same lobby. Can you believe someone chose this to represent them?

      1. Longevity Beyond Our Control

This footprint can remain even after the website it was originally on has ceased to exist. Other people re-tweet our words, re-pin our images, and reference our blogs. This is why we must consider how we present ourselves.

       2. Take advantage of Your Digital Footprint

This is your opportunity to control the footprint of your firm. Curate the content of your site. To build a positive image regarding the work that you do.

      3. Use the Best Resources Available

When a firm photographs a project themselves, they may be saving some money up front, but the resulting images cannot possibly be of the same quality as those produced by a photographer who dedicates their life to creating photos. This will surely cost more than hiring an architectural photographer.

These less than stellar photographs that are “good enough” may be picked up and circulated by other sites in perpetuity. Therefore we should always put our best foot “print” forward by putting only the highest quality content on our sites.
